BEIJING: The next annual meeting of the executive board of Asia News Network (ANN) will be held in Islamabad in 2017. The dates for the meeting, to be hosted by the Dawn Media Group, will be announced later.

The decision was taken at this year’s meeting held in Beijing which, among other matters, announced the launch of ANN’s new website and discussed ways to improve content sharing by the member publications.

Founded in 1999, ANN now comprises 21 leading media outlets, mostly national English-language newspapers, from South, Southeast and Northeast Asia. ANN’s main activities are daily exchanges of news, photos and a host of other collaborations.

The ANN board also elected Zaffar Abbas, Editor Dawn, as the new chairman of the 21-member alliance.
