ISLAMABAD: In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic, State Minister for the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Monday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to make changes to the designs of the road being constructed from E-11 to D-12.

While inspecting the construction of the road, the minister directed that the service road be improved, saying that besides catering to the residents of E-11 and D-12, the road will connect future residential sectors.

When the minister was told the road will be completed by January 2017 at a cost of Rs170 million, he directed the concerned departments of the civic authority to complete the project by September of this year.

Mr Chaudhry said suggestions should be submitted within a week so that the road can be constructed according to traffic needs.

The minister also visited D-12 and was told that all development-related projects in the sector will be completed by the June end.

The minister then went to inspect the delayed Margalla Highway project where the project director told him about the problems with the project such as a graveyard in the route of the highway.

Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry then directed the member engineering to submit recommendations so that the project is completed without further delays.

The CADD minister was also told that when the roundabout in G-10 that will lead on to Margalla Road is complete, it will provide easy access into D-12 and will reduce traffic burden on Kashmir Highway as well.
