MINGORA: Four people were killed and four others critically injured in a road accident in Swat on Saturday.

Locals said a jeep moving from Bahrain to Gornai village went out of the driver’s control and fell down into a deep ditch along the Swat River. Eleven people, including children and women, were onboard the jeep.

Four persons, including two children, died on the spot, while four others among them three women sustained injuries,” Hayat Mohammad Kalami, a local journalist, said.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Afzal, Fayazullah, Muslim Khan and Mohammad Rafiq.

The locals shifted the wounded to civil hospital in Madyan where they were under treatment.

The Bahrain-Kalam road, which was washed away by the 2010 floods, is yet to be reconstructed.

Locals said the bad condition of the road caused frequent accidents.
