NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Police late on Thursday night lodged an FIR against the influential landlord who publicly disgraced in a jirga two brothers for scraping his car with their donkey-cart and forced them to seek apology while holding shoes by their teeth.

The shameful incident took place on Dec 10, 2015, in Phull town. The two brothers Suhail and Ayaz Memon were going to Sadhoja on their donkey-cart when the cart accidentally hit the car of landlord Mohammad Bux Mubejo and caused a minor scratch.

The landlord’s servants came out of the vehicle and beat up the boys. In retaliation, the boys abused them. Afterwards, the landlord who was associated with the ruling part summoned the boys and their relatives to a jirga at his bungalow which he himself headed and awarded them the humiliating punishment.

The boys and their relatives endured the humiliation in silence and did not dare complain to police. They plucked courage and went to the police station only after watching the footage of the incident filmed by someone and posted on social media which was later aired by a private TV channel.

They were kept waiting all the day and were asked to leave late in the night to come back in the morning. But police did not wait for their return and registered the FIR in their absence on the complaint of ASI under Sections 355, 147, 148, 504, 26-b and 34 PPC, according to a police officer Naushahro Feroze police station.
