SIALKOT: Scores of girl students on Wednesday demonstrated at Allama Iqbal Chowk to express solidarity with their 55 fellows expelled due to their alleged poor performance.

Carrying banners and placards, the protesting students of Government Girls High School, Pindi Bhaagu, also chanted slogans against the school management.

They said these students had been studying in class VIII for three years and the school management had expelled them instead of promoting them.

They urged the chief minister and Sialkot DCO Dr Asif Tufail to look into the matter.

Sialkot EDO (Education) Muhammad Farooq avoided giving any comment.
