PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company Chief Executive Officer Anwarul Haq Yousufzai has directed the Pesco officers to achieve the recovery target for the current month, or face disciplinary action.

He also directed his subordinates to implement 100 per cent photo meter-reading to redress complaints of wrong reading by the consumers. He issued the directives during a visit to different Pesco installations in Nowshera and Peshawar on Monday, according to a statement.

The Pesco chief showed dissatisfaction over the poor performance of relevant officials and directed to ensure availability of distribution transformers for replacement in case a transformer was damaged in areas where consumers regularly paid bills. He also directed to stop over-billing.

Mr Yousufzai ordered the officials to show good behaviour towards the consumers while handling their complaints.

Similarly, Pesco chief also visited 132KV Jahangira grid station and inaugurated a new 11KV tube-well feeder. He inspected the Pesco’s complaint centre there and directed the staff to improve their performance.

The Pesco chief also inspected the under-construction Shiekh Muhammadi-Hayatabad transmission line.

He directed the concerned officials to complete the work before Ramazan so that the consumers of Hayatabad, Jamrud and Industrial Estate were provided uninterrupted power supply.

He also inspected the central complaint cell and showed his dissatisfaction over the poor performance of staffers.

He directed provision of all facilities in the complaint cell.
