KHAR: Unknown gunmen killed a man in Khar tehsil of Bajaur Agency on Tuesday.

Local administration officials said that one Amir Khan was going to the bus stand in Sadiqabad bazaar when unknown armed men opened fire on him. He was seriously wounded and later died in the agency headquarters hospital before he could receive medical aid.

After the incident, the security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation.

The officials said Amir Khan belonged to Charmang area of Nawagai tehsil and the motive behind the attack was yet to be ascertained. When contacted, a senior administration official said that they had launched investigation into the incident.

PROTEST: Scores of students staged a protest demonstration here on Tuesday against the local education department for denial of admission to them in fifth class.

Chanting slogans against the management of government high school, Badan, students of the government primary school, Dabar, staged a protest demonstration in front of political tehsildar’s office of Mamond tehsil here.

The protesters said that management of the high school had refused admission to them in the fifth class due to shortage of space.

They urged the officials to increase seats in the government high school, Badan, to accommodate students of Dabar there.
