OKARA: Two children were burnt alive when a fire engulfed a makeshift hut in the river Ravi bed on Saturday evening.

According to police, Falak Sher, a resident of Shirin Wattooan village near Gogera, had cultivated watermelons in the dry riverbed and was living there in a makeshift hut along with his wife Zahida, daughter Alka Bibi (4) and two-year-old son Shah Zeb.

On Saturday evening, when Falak Sher and his wife were in the fields, a fire broke out in the hut that burnt the both minors.
