LAHORE: Punjab health department has claimed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has recognised the Ghazi Medical College, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sahiwal Medical College.

A handout issued on Saturday says the students of both the medical colleges have also been registered by the PMDC.

It said the decision was taken in the 142nd meeting of PMDC held in Islamabad on Saturday. It was attended by PMDC president Prof Dr Shabeer Ahmed Lehri, Punjab Specialized Health and Medical Education Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah, Dr Amir Bandisha and other members.

According to the handout, Mr Najam Ahmed Shah said it was a memorable day for the students of both institutions as their future had been secured.
