TOBA TEK SINGH: A death-row prisoner was executed here on Wednesday at the district jail.

Convict Tariq Mahmood of Chak 323-GB, Jorianwali, was residing in the UK for job where he contracted love marriage with a British-Pakistani girl (S). After some time the couple developed differences and Mahmood returned to Pakistan.

His wife also came here and after failing to reconcile with the convict she got divorce by filing dissolution of marriage suit in a local court.

Mahmood suspected that his uncle Haji Mumtaz Alam persuaded her to get divorce; therefore, he had shot dead Alam on Aug 2, 1999.

His body was handed over to his family.
