Young World

Out of all the children’s magazines available to us in Pakistan, I prefer reading Young World because it contains information that is interesting, funny and unique too. We get everything in one place such as stories, jokes, articles, news from around the world, poems, art and a lot more interesting stuff.

I like to read articles and solve riddles. The word search activity and the creative drawings and poems by children featured in the magazine are interesting. I am trying to be a regular reader of YW as I have noticed that it enhances my reading ability as well as vocabulary.

Remarkable animals rescues of humans

This is regarding the cover story “Remarkable animals rescues of humans” compiled by Benazir Raz (January 30, 2016). It is true that we consider wild animals as our enemies and animals consider only those as enemies whom they can eat or be eaten by.

But uncertain and amazing things often happen which leave us wondering how nature plays its role in saving the humans.

The compilation was truly amazing and inspiring. I was awestruck to read how three lions saved a little girl from her kidnappers and how in various incidents dolphins sensed that humans could be in danger from sharks. All the encounters were truly amazing and I enjoyed reading about them.

Mum is always right

This is with reference to the story “Mum is always right” by Fatima Qayyum Abbasi (YW, January 30, 2016). The story was nicely written and conveyed the message that we should obey our parents and listen to what they say as they are older and more experienced than us.

Above all, they have gone through our age and know very well what could be harmful and useless to us. And the childhood fear regarding wearing spectacles was beautifully portrayed in the story.

Stealing isn’t sweet

This is regarding the story “Stealing isn’t sweet” by Dua-e-Zehra Anwar (YW, February 13, 2016).

I agree with the writer’s idea. In fact, stealing is such a bad habit that it gives an impression of a person as dishonest and untrustworthy.

As students, we should never choose wrong paths to achieve so-called rewards and always, focus on our studies to get good grades and appriaction by everyone. This is the real essence of a beautiful life.
