NOWSHERA: The provincial leadership of Pakistan People’s Party has failed to resolve difference between its two groups in Nowshera, according to sources.

They said that one of the two groups held a meeting at the residence of former MPA Baseer Ahmad at Kahi that was attended by former federal minister Mian Muzaffar Shah, provincial convener of PPP dissident group and former MNA Tariq Khattak, PPP former provincial general secretary Mian Sajid Ali Shah Shebli, Advocate Mian Aqmal Shah of Akora Khattak and others.

The participants of the meeting expressed concerns over the ongoing tussle among the PPP activists and demanded of the party leadership to step forward to resolve differences among the workers.

They decided to hold another meeting at Nowshera Cantonment on Friday to announce a strategy for mass mobilisation campaign across the district.

The other group of the party in Nowshera held a meeting at the residence of PPP district president Mian Yahya Shah Kakakhel that was attended by PPP provincial information secretary Liaquat Shabab, Mohammad Ilyas, Saifullah, Qawiullah, Mian Nomanul Haq Kakakhel and other members of the group.

The participants of the meeting decided to mobilise workers and reorganise party at provincial constituency level before the visit of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to Nowshera.

They decided that first workers’ convention would be held at the residence of Pabbi tehsil president Mohammad Ilyas for PK-12 on February 12. The second workers’ convention for PK-13 would be held at the residence of Mian Nomanul Haq Kakakhel on February 13. The third workers’ convention for PK-14 would be held at the residence of Haji Mohammad Ajmal Khan on February 14.

The meeting decided that the workers’ conventions for PK-15 and PK-16 would be held at the residence of Najeebullah Khattak on February 15.
