LAHORE: The Punjab education department has asked the grade-V students appearing in the Punjab Examination Commission exam to attend their schools on Jan 30.

“The grade-V students appearing in the PEC exam will attend their institutions on Jan 30 at 9am to ensure their roll number slips and other guidance from the PEC,” Lahore EDO Education Pervaiz Akhtar told Dawn on Wednesday.

All public and private schools in Punjab are closed till Jan 31 because of ‘extreme cold weather and security’.

UVAS: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Wednesday organised a one-day job fair on the campus.

Poultry industrialist Dr Mustafa Kamal inaugurated the fair while Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Business Manager (ICI) Saboor Ahmad and a large number of industry representatives and students were present on the occasion.

Dr Kamal said the varsity was playing a vital role in development of livestock and poultry sectors through their trained manpower and quality education.

GCU: The students of Government College University on Wednesday dispatched a “Solidarity Banner” to the Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, to express solidarity with the martyrs.

A large number of students, faculty members and Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah also signed the solidarity banner which was designed by office-bearers of the university’s Chawla Mathematical Society (CMC).
