RAWALPINDI: A suspected swine flu patient died at Benazir Bhutto Hospital on Saturday.
It is the second death related to swine flu in the hospital. However, Medical Superintendent Dr Asif Qadir Mir said that though the patient had symptoms of swine flu, the report from National Institute of Health (NIH) had yet not arrived.
He said Razia Bibi was suffering from flu and fever for the last one week and was admitted to the hospital two days ago.
Mohammad Nazir had died two days ago and was a confirmed patient of swine flu.
During the last two weeks, 12 people have died of swine flu in Rawalpindi district. Four people died at Holy Family Hospital, two at Benazir Bhutto Hospital and one at District Headquarters Hospital. The remaining died at private hospitals.
Executive District Officer Health Dr Arshad Ali Sabir told Dawn that the head department was maintaining record and all private hospitals provided data to NIH which then conveyed it to the district health department.
