QUETTA: The body of the wife of the late Nawab Khair Bux Marri, who passed away in London last week, was brought to Quetta via Dubai on a chartered plane.

It was received by her son Nawab Jangez Khan Marri, who is currently head of the tribe. His brothers, including Harbiyar, who is living in exile in the UK, were unable to attend the funeral.

She was laid to rest in the same graveyard where‎ Nawab Marri is buried.

Nawabzada Gazain Marri and Nawabzada Mehran Marri are other brothers of Nawab Jangez Marri. Another brother Nawabzada Mir Balaach Khan Marri has died.

Nawab Jangez Marri, tribal elders of various tribes, workers of political parties and students organisation, including the BSO-Azad, and Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, attended the funeral.

A large number of people visited the residence of Nawab Jangez Marri, who is also provincial minister for irrigation and power, and offered condolences.

Prominent among them were Chief Minister Dr Malik Baloch, former chief minister Sardar Muhammad Saleh Bhootani, ministers Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, Mir Mohammad Khan Lehri, Mir Mujeebur Rehman Mohammad Hasni, Mir Khalid Langove, Sardar Aslam Bizenjo and Tahir Mehmood.
