GWADAR: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch inaugurated the circuit bench of the Balochistan High Court in Turbat on Wednesday.

The Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court, Justice Noor Muhammad Meskanzai, Justice Shakeel Ahmed, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel, Justice Hashim Kakar and Justice Ejaz Swati, senior lawyers Hadi Shakeel Ahmed, Ali Ahmed Kurd and a large number of people from the legal fraternity were present on the occasion.

The chief minister said that the struggle and sacrifices of lawyers, political parties and civil society for the independence of judiciary and rule of law was a great part of the country’s history because it had paved the way for establishing a justice-based society.

The chief minister announced a grant of Rs5 million for the library of the circuit bench and Rs2m for the Turbat Bar Association.

Justice Meskanzai said that the setting up of a constitutional court in Turbat would guarantee the protection of the rights of area people.

“It was my desire to establish a circuit bench of BHC in Turbat which had been fulfilled today as I had started my carrier as a lawyer from Turbat,” said the chief justice.
