LAHORE: The general council meeting of the Pakistan Modern Pentathlon Federation (PMPF) was held at a local hotel here on Thursday.

Riaz Fitiana, the president of PMPF, presided over the meeting.

Bernard Moss represented the Union of International Pentathlon Modern (UIPM) while representatives of all provinces, Islamabad, Fata and Azad Kashmir also attended the meeting. The calendar year competitions of 2016 were also approved during the meeting.

According to calendar activities, the PMPF will organise the National Pentathlon Championship, Inter-Provincial Championship, Inter-School Championship, National Junior Championship and the National Women Pentathlon Championship.

In January 2016, national training camp for males and females will also be organised to prepare pentathlete for important future events.

The national team’s participation in the international pentathlon championship was also approved at the meeting, which also endorsed the expenditures of 2014 and 2015.

The meeting also reviewed the measures taken by the PMPF during 2014-15 for promoting the game in the country.

The gathering also admired the role and cooperation from the Sports Board Punjab (SBP) for the growth of pentathlon in the country and holding of recently-staged second National Pentathlon Championship in a befitting manner.

Syed Tahir Fawad Shah, Zahoor Ahmed, Ramzan Qasuri, Chand Perveen, Riffat, Shah Mohammad, Sajid Hussain, Mian Safdar Hussain, Mohammad Ashfaq and Mohammad Hafeez attended the meeting as members of the general council.
