KARACHI: The Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) on Monday urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend date of filing income tax returns and statements for the tax year 2015 for a period of one month.

In a statement, KTBA President Muhammad Zubair drew the attention of FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa towards difficulties in filing of income tax returns and statements.

“A major reason for seeking extension in date of filing returns is the recent Muharram holidays. During the period between October 23 – 25, internet and mobile phone services were non-operative,” he added.

He pleaded to extend the date till November 30, 2015 so that all the taxpayers and tax practitioners would be able to file their returns and statements.
