It is need of the hour to bridge the gap between pure sciences and social sciences which is widening due to the invasion of Information Technology. “Pure sciences have more scholarships as compared to social sciences. But I hope the government will take solid measures to fill the gap between the two sciences.”

This was stated by Numl director general Azam Jamil while speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day international conference on social sciences and humanities which was organised by the university.

The conference, which concluded on Tuesday, was attended by national and international scholars, including Dr David Waterman, University of La Rochelle, France; Dr Alain Desouliers, Cerlom, Inalco, France; Dr Ali Pedram Mirzaei, Iran; Dr Almuth Degener, Institute of Indology, Germany, and AIOU Vice Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui.
