SWABI: In yet another honour related incident in three days, a man shot dead his wife and his nephew in a village of Chota Lahor tehsil here on Saturday, police said.

Earlier, a couple was killed in Kotha village.

When contacted, DSP Chota Lahor tehsil Izhar Shah told Dawn that the incident occurred in far-flung Mathra village in the jurisdiction of Chota Lahor city police station.

He said that the victims’ family belonged to Mohmand Agency and was presently staying in the Mathra village working on the farm of a landlord. The family had migrated here due to an enmity in their native village.

Police officials said that the woman and her husband’s nephew had allegedly developed illicit relations. “The man after getting suspicious kept a watch over his wife and his nephew and shot them dead when he found them together in his house,” said an official who conducted the initial investigation into the incident. He said the culprit escaped the area after committing the double murder.

“We have raided various locations to arrest the killer, but it seems that he escaped to the tribal belt,” said the police official, adding that an FIR was registered against the accused in the Chota Lahor police station.
