KHUZDAR: A Levies man was killed and three others were injured when their vehicle came under attack in Karmai area of Kalat district on Saturday. One of the attackers was also killed in retaliatory firing.

According to official sources, Levies personnel were going to Kalat when unidentified people opened fire on their vehicle. The troops returned fire and the shootout continued awhile.

The deceased Levies man was identified as Abdul Waheed and the injured as Wahid Ahmed and Ghulam Sarwar.

The identity of the deceased attacker could not be ascertained.

Deputy Commissioner of Kalat Dr Tufail Baloch said a search operation had been launched in the area for the arrest of attackers.

Meanwhile, a suspect was injured in an exchange of fire with Levies personnel in Baghbana area of Khuzdar district.
