Three police officials, two 'terrorists' killed in district Tank

PESHAWAR: At least three policemen and two "suspected terrorists" were killed in an exchange of fire between security officials and miscreants in Tank District on Tuesday.

Four police personnel, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were also wounded in the clash that occurred during a police raid in the Omar Kalay village situated in Tank District.

According to the Tank Police Control, the police raided a house in Omar Kalay after receiving a tip-off about the whereabouts of a wanted terrorist.

As the suspect saw policemen approach his house, he opened fire, instantly killing the three cops and injuring others.

Police said that the alleged terrorists, Jamal and his brother Afzal, were also killed in responsive firing.

They further said that the four injured policemen, including SHO Alamgir Khan were taken to District Headquarters Hospital Tank for treatment. Their condition was not known until the filing of this report.
