Paying salaries to workers on time and Qataris call it a reform. How pathetic.

Qatar must answer why migrant workers getting killed every day..

Labour reforms are must for the creation of better relations between the employers and employees in the ME countries. Many including labours from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Banladesh who have been working in the ME countries have to undergo hardships because of unemployment in their own country of origin. They accept all kinds of injustices just to save their jobs and their employers are fully cashing on their helplessness . In most of the cases the employees are compelled to work for more than 12 hours a day and even not paid their wages of over time work. If some employee asks for the over time wages then he is threaten to be expelled from the country. The local citizens on the payroll of companies (enlisted due to quota system)do not turn up for duty and their job is done by other nationals. Until and unless the people from other countries have the right to work any where and with any employer these injustices will continue.

@Shawn so why do developed Countries like USA have a much lower accident rate on construction sites?

These statements from every Arab Gulf Countries are White Wash. Nobody listen to foreign workers when the salaries are not paid. The government does not want to hurt the feelings of the nationals who are responsible.

Look at the amount of fines less than 2000 dollars. They will be violating the laws and willingly pay fines. What a joke.
