IT is indeed regrettable that the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman and other officials are continuously requesting the Board of Control for Cricket in India to resume playing cricket with Pakistan.
I fail to understand why Pakistan should be so desperate to play against India. Knowing well that the Indian government is not showing any sign of friendship or normal courtesies, why should we bow down so much?
I agree with Shahid Afridi that we should not be guided by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as far as discipline is concerned. The punishment imposed by the ICC is now over and Pakistan instead of taking guidance from the international ruling body should take its own course of dealing with these cricketers.
I expect the PCB to deal with these issues in a manner in which Pakistan’s image improves rather than beg the Indian government for approval of playing cricket and show unnecessary generosity to the shamed trio.
