TANK: About 400 displaced families returned to their native town in South Waziristan from Khargi transit camp in the second phase of repatriation after security forces cleared these areas of militants.

Under the repatriation plan, the displaced families will get free transpiration, Rs25000 cash amount and ration for six months.

South Waziristan Political Agent Zaffarul Islam, Assistant Political Officer Nawab Safi, APA Abdul Nasir, FDMA coordinator Syed Umar and army officers and tribal elder saw off the caravan of IDPs to different areas including Tiyarza, Sarwakai and Sara Rogha.

Talking to journalists, Zaffarul Islam said that it was a matter of satisfaction for the tribal people to return to their native towns with respect and dignity. He assured the returning displaced people of provision of clean drinking water, health and education facilities.

The official said that arrangements were made at Khargi transit camp to provide all facilities to the returning IDPs. He said that anti-polio vaccine and free food were provided to tribal people.

The official said that government would not leave tribal people alone after their return and all possible assistance would be provided to them. He said that 10,000 IDPs registered themselves for going back to their areas in the second phase, which would be completed in one month.
