KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not to curtail the participation of Karachi cricket teams in the domestic tournaments and amicably settle all issues with the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) and its officials in order to maintain peaceful environment all around for the benefit of the game.

In a letter to the PCB on Monday, Shoaib Siddiqui asked the cricket board to resolve the present crisis over the reduction of the Karachi teams with logic and reason.

Referring to his earlier discussion with the PCB chairman and other officials regarding the matter, the commissioner emphasised in the letter that while the government is making every effort to ensure peace in the country and taking measures for removing the causes of concern and the grievances of people, the already settled issues should not be disturbed as it could create unnecessary resentment among the masses.

He strongly recommended that the PCB should not reduce the number of Karachi teams and must avoid creating an atmosphere of agitation and protest which is not good for the future of the game.
