India and Kashmir

Published August 30, 2015

INDIA has always shown a cold shoulder when it comes to Kashmir. If Kashmir is an integral part of India then why do the Kashmiri people observe a Black Day every year on India’s independence day?

This matter can be easily resolved. The United Nations should hold a referendum in Jammu and Kashmir and let the Kashmiris decide whether they want to live with Pakistan or India.

India should realise it will only come to grief by oppressing the Kashmiri people and trying to crush their yearning to be free of foreign domination.
