Chief justice urged to get VIP protocol

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has advised newly appointed Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja to avail of VIP protocol and security in the wake of prevailing law and order situation in the country.

According to sources, the prime minister made the advice in a letter addressed to the chief justice.

Soon after assuming charge of his office on Monday, Justice Khawaja had refused to receive VIP protocol and take a bulletproof car.

In the letter, Prime Minister Sharif said it was “advisable” for the chief justice to keep the bulletproof vehicle for which he was entitled to.

The sources, however, claimed that the chief justice stuck to his decision and asked the court office to send a reply to the prime minister accordingly.

Justice Khwaja should take all the security measures otherwise if any unfortunate incident happens, the state will be blamed for not protecting the Chief Justice of the country. Same was the case for Mr. Shuja Khanzada

We love Justice Khawaja, he a trend-setter, he understands that he is a public servant and not a king. Our ministers should learn from him. There should not be VVIP Culture. This creates frustration among public. But he must take of his security personally in view of law & order situation. Our prayers are with Mr. CJ. Such like people must be voted and inducted in our political system.

I agree with Mr Nawaz Shareef. In the current context, enemies of Pakistan want to target high profile people(especially the highest ones which can bring maximum negative media attention internationally to Pakistan). Justice Jawwad Khwaja should listen to Mr Shareef.
