Arms, ammo seized

TAXILA: The Hassanabdal police on Thursday claimed to have recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition and arrested two persons.

Sub-divisional Police officer Raja Taifour Akhter told newsmen that on a tip-off a car was intercepted on Hazara Road near Jehri Kass check post and during search police recovered five 9MM pistols with six magazines, one 30 bore pistol with 200 bullets from hidden parts of the vehicle. He said that the police also arrested two occupants of the car.

The police have registered a case against them. He said during the preliminary investigation, the accused had confessed to smuggling arms and ammunition from Peshawar to Hazara.
