LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed on Saturday two more renowned restaurants in Gulberg, as many on Multan Road and a food production unit in Shalimar Town for flouting pure food regulations.

The PFA teams also continued to penalise milkmen/sellers at various entry/exit points of the city.

According to officials, a Gulberg town-based PFA team headed by Farah Athar sealed Domeno Hut and Mandarin Chinese restaurant on the Main Boulevard. The owners of both restaurants reportedly failed to produce medical certificates of staffers and ensure proper cleanliness of their premises.

Another team headed by PFA Director Ayesha Mumtaz sealed Mian Ji restaurant near Manga (31km on Multan Road) and Malik Hotel on Raiwind Road.

These restaurants were sealed after the team found no soap for washing hands and utensils, with dirty and unmanaged freezers, no head cover, gloves, dirty utensils, mincing machines, cutting boards etc. There were no preventive measures for flies, insects, rodents, insect killers. The kitchens were dirty with no dustbins while the leftover meal was also stored there. The staffers had no medical certificates as well.

The Data Ganj Bakhsh team sealed AFC at Regal Chowk due to dirty and broken freezers, improper storage of chicken, dirty nails of workers.
