BAHAWALPUR: Regional police Officer (RPO) Ehsan Sadiq suspended from service 13 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) of three districts for corruption and ordered them to report to their respective district police lines.

A press release issued on Monday said four ASIs were each from the districts of Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan and five from Bahawalnagar.

The RPO had sought intelligence reports on the ASIs after receiving public complaints against them which proved the charges right.

He urged the general public to register complaints against police officials and, if found guilty, they would be taken to task.

DEMO: MPA Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar led a demonstration of the residents of Tibba Badar Shair Katchi Abadi outside the office of tehsil municipal administration (TMA) to protest against it for not removing sewage and rainwater from their locality.

The protesters said the sewage and rainwater were giving foul smell at various points of the locality and they could cause outbreak of diseases in the area.

They had registered complaints with TMA officials time and again but the administration did not address the complaints, they said.
