LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency Special Judge Central, Faisalabad, has handed down sentence to seven human smugglers from four to nine years jail and a fine up to Rs100,000 each.

According to an FIA spokesman, owing to effective prosecution of the agency seven human smugglers got convicted.

The convicted human smugglers are; Tallat Mahmood, nine years and Rs 1,00,000, Muhammad Younas, nine years and Rs100,000, M. Irfan, seven years and Rs 100,000, Naheed Abbas, seven years and Rs100,000, Amjad Naseer, seven years and Rs100,000, Khuda Bakhsh, five years and Rs100,000 and Asad Iqbal, four years and Rs 80,000.

The spokesman said the accused were involved in sending a number of people abroad after charging huge sum of money. They were arrested in 2012.
