Mega projects

Published July 6, 2015

IT is clear that the PML-N government wants to take the country on the road to progress through it mega-projects like the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway, the Lahore Metro Bus Service and the Metro Service Islamabad.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has already announced to link the provinces through the Motorway network. I hope that he would also do something similar for Gilgit-Baltistan via Gilgit–Skardu Road.

However, after the natural disaster in 2010, the road had been badly damaged and needs to be repaired.

Gilgit-Baltistan is a region which is rich in fruits but a lot of it goes waste as it cannot be transported to other parts of the country owing to the non-availability of proper infrastructure and roads.
