MUZAFFARGARH: District Police Officer (DPO) Awais Ahmed is leading an operation against the Jakha gang in the Indus riverside in Alipur to rescue two children kidnapped by the gang on Monday.
Police said the gang kidnapped Kaura and Sagheer, of the Jaboja clan, from the Khairpur Sadat area, 120 kilometres from the Muzaffargarh city area.
Akbar Jaboja said Bilal Jakha with his accomplices Khaliq Jattani, Rauf Bosan and others kidnapped the children for they suspected that Akbar was an informer of Kundai and Khairpur Sadat police stations.
As soon as Jaboja informed the police of Khairpur Sadat and Kundai about the abduction of children on Saturday, the DPO arrived in the area and ordered the police to recover the children from the gang.
The DPO also led the police in the jungle and by the time the report was filed at 9pm, police had yet to find clue in their search for the children.
The Jaboja family said dozens of villagers were also with police teams in the search operation.
Officials said six suspects had been held for investigation.
