ISLAMABAD: Kaleem Ahsan, a former Dawn staffer who worked with the organisation first in Karachi and then Lahore, passed away in Islamabad after a protracted illness on Friday.

He served in the magazine section (Images) and Supplements before moving to Lahore to the paper’s city desk. He was later also affiliated with The News Rawalpindi office in the capacity of assistant editor.

Mr Ahsan aka Mickey was also one-half of the fashion photography duo Mickey & Momey widely recognised and respected by the country’s fashion fraternity and worked hard to put Islamabad on the fashion map of Pakistan by conducting fashion and editorial shoots, celebrity interviews and features, travel pieces and photo essays. He worked in close proximity with other Islamabad-based fashionistas such as Rezz Aly Shah, Tony Navaid Rashid, Meeshee Khan and others.
