OKARA/SIALKOT: A couple was run over and killed by a train near Akhtarabad on Saturday.

Labourer Rehmat Ali along with his wife Ghulam Fatima was crossing the railway track when the Karachi-bound Tezgam ran over and killed them.

In Uggoki (Sialkot), four people were crossing an unmanned railway track on Friday night when the Rawalpindi-Sialkot-bound Bao Train hit them. The injured have been identified as Hasan Yousaf, Khawar Babar, Kamran Nazeer and Ahmed Sattar.

Rescue 1122 shifted them to hospital in a critical condition.

Later, a number of people besieged the train and kept the rail traffic blocked for two hours on Sambrial-Uggoki-Sialkot track. The protesters damaged several windowpanes of the train.
