BAHAWALNAGAR: A mob set ablaze a passenger bus on Friday after a motorcyclist died under its wheel in the jurisdiction of Madressa police.

The bus knocked down motorcyclist Safdar, of Basti Hasanka. Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot and provided first aid to Safdar, but he died at the scene.

The bus driver managed his escape.

However, the accident triggered a protest in the area. The family placed the body on road while the charged crowd set ablaze the bus.

They also blocked Bahawalnagar-Chishtian Road and threw traffic out of gear for several hours.

The Madressa police talked to the family. On their assurance, people dispersed.
