Blast near Shia mosque in Saudi Arabia kills four

DAMMAM: The Islamic State claimed responsibility for a car blast during Friday prayers outside a Shia mosque in Saudi Arabia's Dammam city which killed four people, including a driver.
The attack was “foiled” by the authorities, the Saudi interior ministry said.
An Islamic State statement named the suicide bomber as Abu Jandal al-Jizrawi and said he had managed to reach his target despite heightened security.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that a bomber tried to enter a mosque in Dammam and detonated his bomb in the parking lot after being stopped by security guards.
It added that guards approached the car as it was parking and that the driver detonated the bomb.
“When they headed towards it, it exploded killing four people, at least one of them believed to be its driver,” an interior ministry spokesman said.
The Interior Ministry said the blast ─ which set several cars ablaze ─ took place at Al-Anoud mosque.
According to witnesses, the suicide bomber was disguised as a woman.
A witness, identified only as Ahmed, earlier told Reuters he was with his family near the mosque when "a quick explosion" happened. He did not know the cause of the blast.
He said acquaintances at the mosque told him a man was killed along with a bomber when he tried to prevent him from reaching it.
Another witness said a passer-by was also killed in the blast.
Photos posted by journalists on Twitter showed thick black clouds of smoke and a fire blazing at the purported scene of the blast.

PM Nawaz condemns attack
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the suicide blast in Dammam.
He deplored the loss of lives and prayed for the early recovery of injured, extended condolences to the government of Saudi Arabia.
Last Friday, a suicide bomber detonated a bomb at a mosque in Shia-majority Qatif during Friday weekly prayers killing 21 people and wounding several others. The self-styled Islamic State (IS) group said in an online statement that it had carried out the deadly suicide bomb attack last week.

This is very serious issue. It should not be taken lightly because it happened to a shia mosque. If do not stop it, these takfiries will not spare Masjid e Nabvi which is their target too.

The Saudis are able to catch Pakistani drug smugglers very easily who smuggle small amounts of the drug in their stomachs and in other ways to hide the small amounts. Yet when it comes to large explosives needed to kill dozens of people, they don't know where to look.

Saudi Arabia should realise that her biggest enemy and enemy of Islam is currently IS and not Iran or Bashar al asad.I am not saying to support any ethnicity but trying to make saudis to understand to stop supporting IS in areas where it has convergent interests.

Now IS knows that they have influence in Sunni Muslim youth world wide. The know very well know that Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia can't face them on ground. Therefore, they are I full confidence and marching to their destination.
IS has more territorial area comprising than Jordan and Syria. It has multi way to gain money. It has sufficient ground fighting arms, left by Iraq army.
Turkey is a member of NATO therefore it can't involve in other country. Now Only and only Pakistan army can secure GCC if India spare them.

I had gone to pray asar prayers at this very same mosque but was surprised why the doors were all locked at the time of Asar and no one seemed to be around. I had not realized then this could have been a shaia mosque.

How many security guards are killed? Most likely none. Thus attack was planned by Saudi Govt to threaten Shia Muslims so they can not make local committees what they planned earlier to defend themselves after last Friday attack. Prince Naef gave very harsh comments over that just recently that those who will make such committees would be dealt with iron hand. This is their iron hand

I think the people of this Holy land should stand united in the face of such attacks. I really value what the rulers of KSA are doing for the people from healthcare to education etc. only a fool would burn his own home.
