LAHORE: Wazir Ali won the trip of Dubai after winning the first Book It 247 Golf Tournament held at the historic Lahore Gymkhana Course on Tuesday.

Wazir and his spouse are eligible for a three-day free trip to the Emirates.

Competitive conditions were tough indeed and even though players like Nasir Irshad, Abbas Ali Khan, Mohsen Zafar, Imran Mairaj and Saeed Ahmed displayed ample golfing ability and were consistent in their shot making, they could not emerge as the superb ones of the day.

In fact, this prized status went to Wazir who traversed the golf course layout, demonstrating exceedingly fine shot making and backed it up with classy work in and around the greens.

As a result the birdies came with magical frequency and his round of net 64 carried a touch of total excellence.

In the race for honours in the net section Hassan Samiuddin came second with a score of net 65 while Ali Raza Jaffrey was third with a net card of 69.

Other winners to win prizes in the gross section were Mohsen Zafar (first), Abbas Ali Khan (second) and Nasir Irshad (third).

At the conclusion, chief guest Rehmatullah Ghauri gave away the prizes.

Winners of other events were:

Invitational: Faisal Syed (gross), Shaoor Ahmed (net).

Ladies: Sameea Javed Ali (gross), Rabia Tiwana (net).

Senior Veterans: Brig (retired) Fayyaz Ghani (gross), Dr Prof Khawaja Sadiq Hussain (net).
