Engro Foods, NBP sign MoU

KARACHI: Engro Foods on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to provide entrepreneurship opportunities in dairy and livestock sector, said a press release.

The financing to eligible candidates will be provided under the Prime Minister Youth Business Loan scheme and training by Engro Food through different programmes.

Soneri Bank partners with Ria Money Transfer

KARACHI: Soneri Bank Ltd has partnered with Ria Money Transfer, a US based company, to provide remittance services throughout Pakistan, said a press release on Monday. The remitted amount can be collected at more than 240 Soneri Bank branches in 106 cities across the country.

Coca-Cola marks 100 years of bottle

KARACHI: The Coca-Cola Company is celebrating this year 100th anniversary of its iconic contour bottle, with a host of different activities aimed at paying tribute to “what is perhaps the most recognised packaging of any product or brand globally”, a press release said on Monday.

The bottle was created in 1915 by The Root Glass Company of Terre Haute, Indiana.

PTA confers mobile app awards

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Monday conferred awards with cash prizes to the winners of “Pakistan Mobile App Awards 2015”.

According to a press release, the awards were given in two categories — students and professional. First position in the students’ category was won by International Islamic University’s Rabia Jabbar and Humna Shaheen for developing the Pre-School Champs mobile application. In the professional category, first position was won by Hassan Baig and his team for developing the internet tutor app.

Zong’s offer for Saudi Arabia travellers

KARACHI: Zong has launched its “Roam Like Home” offer for its customers travelling to Saudi Arabia, a press release said on Monday.

The offer can be enjoyed while availing roaming on Saudi Arabia’s Zain network.

Milvik Mobile granted registration

ISLAMABAD: The SECP has granted the certificate of registration to the Milvik Mobile Pakistan, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Milvik AB, Sweden which facilitates the provision of insurance through mobile phones to users, particularly the low-income target market, by providing technology solutions.

The company is working under the brand name of “Bima”. The Milvik AB has been working in various countries, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Ghana, Tanzania, Mauritius and other African countries for provision of insurance services to the low-income segment through technology platforms.
