LAHORE: Imam of Ka’aba Dr Shaikh Khalid Al Ghamidi reached Lahore on Thursday evening on a four-day visit to Pakistan.

Jamiat Ahle Hadith President Senator Sajid Mir, Pakistan Ulema Council chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, Saudi ambassador and government officials received him at the airport under a tight security.

He went straight to the State Guest House without talking to the media persons awaiting him for hours.

Dr Ghamidi will deliver Juma sermon at Bahria Town mosque on Friday (today). On Saturday, he will be given receptions at Jamia Ashrafia and Badshahi Masjid at noon and in the evening, respectively.

At Bahshahi Masjid he will offer special prayers for the security and solidarity of Pakistan and protection of Harmain Sharifain besides meeting noted scholars of different schools of thought.

On Sunday, he will visit Jamiat Ahle Hadith centre on Ravi Road and hold meetings with Senator Sajid Mir and others to discuss matters of mutual interest and the friendly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Later, he will proceed to Islamabad.

The purpose of the visit is stated to be promotion of polio vaccination campaign in Pakistan and supporting various religious, political and social leaders in their efforts to eradicate the virus from the country.
