CHARSADDA: A constable posted at the US Consulate in Peshawar was shot dead by unidentified assailants here on the night between Friday and Saturday.

According to police, the victim, Misal Khan, resident of Mominabad, Mera Turangzai, was going home from the house of his in-laws when he came under attack. He died instantly.

The Charsadda police station registered the case on the complaint of Maazullah, brother of the victim. He told the police that Misal Khan was posted to the US Consulate in Peshawar and had come to home on a one-day leave.

Maazullah told the police that the local people informed him that the body of his brother was lying in the Charsadda hospital. He said that his family had no enmity with anybody in the area.
