MARDAN: Prominent political leaders, government functionaries and civil society members visited Hoti House here on Friday to condole the death of ANP leader Senator Azam Khan Hoti.

Qul of the deceased ANP leader was held on the occasion. Prominent among the visitors were Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, JI chief Sirajul Haq, former Senate chairman Waseem Sajjad, former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Barrister Masood Kausar, former ISI chief Gen retired Ihsan-ul-Haq and other key personalities from across the country. They condoled the death with former KP chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, who is the son of Azam Hoti, and other members of the family.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani also phoned Ameer Haider Hoti to condole the death of his father.

The visiting leaders paid homage to the ANP leader, saying that Azam Hoti was a great political personality and his loss was irreparable. They said that the nation was deprived of a great patriotic leader.

They expressed their sympathies with the bereaved family on the sad demise of the late ANP leader. They prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to members of the grieved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
