Never has he ever said anything bad, same way for Sania she has respect for our PM and met him many times on his call and always had good things to say about him. On all her achievements pm has always congratulated her along with other athletes on win. No discrimination. It's a democracy there is freedom of speech just because one MLA from "a" southern state Telegana says his personal negative opinion about her being "their state ambassador", doesn't mean it has to be the opinion of whole state much less country or PM.

We want the atmosphere they get in India, in Pakistan also. Come on!! how much more cricket? We had squash, but now we are nowhere close to good at it. Hockey is another sad story. Aisam is in free fall in tennis too. I am a women, and we want same rights here too. More stunning is the fact that she is a Muslim, in Hindu majority India. Good Sania.

Don't compare Sania and Saina. The latter is world number 1 in the singles not doubles that too in a sport in which Chinese produce champions on an assembly line. Her competition is 100 times harder. She is the best player in the world in her sport. The former is in a relatively easy draw of doubles. None of the best tennis players actually play doubles. Before her Bhupathy and Paes have been world number 1 in doubles and before that Amritraj brothers too. But still considering her limited ability, athleticism, talent and pedigree, it is commendable that she has reached so far. Well done Sania. Now cease this chance, don't let 'anyone' hold you back, if they try then leave them.

First Saina, world #1 in badminton and now Sania world #1 tennis doubles player. Both ladies attaining their rightful thrones almost together and making all us indians proud.Great going,maam(s).

@Anupam Keep an eye out for following badminton players too: Kidambi Srikanth (#4 in mens singles ) and P.Kashyap (top 10 in men's singles) and P.V. Sindhu (top 5-10 in women's badminton singles). Of these, Kidambi Srikanth has beaten World No 1 Chen Long and other top Chinese and swedish players and could soon become #1-2 in men's singles. P.V. Sindhu has also beaten the top women Chinese players in the past and could also make it to #1. She is very young and inconsistent unlike Saina Nehwal who is more mature. But watch out for Sindhu in future.. All in all, good times for Indian racquet-based sports.

Every one in the world including Indians are our brothers in humanity, because Adam, peace be upon him, is our father. The man on earth. Every Muslim in the world, including Muslims in India, are our brothers in Islam. Islam teaches us to stand up against oppression, be it from our own rulers or outside. Who ever plays well in a game, we should show generosity to praise the performance, what is in our control is to strive our best.

@Ahmed USA Yes there some criticism by Hindu fanatics and poor Sania had to stomach all that humiliation, for which right thinking Indians are ashamed. I would say most Indians -and definitely the young ones - do not at all like this communalising of events. I personally am very glad that Sania has become world doubles no.1, and I would like to see more and more Muslims and people from the minority and poorer sections succeed in every sphere of life, and the narrow voices of the fanatics become more and more stifled they they are rendered silent. @ravi there are many non Muslim public figures in Pakistan also, compare to India, Hindus Living in Pakistan are only of 1% may be (Not sure about fig) and Muslims living in India are up to 14%. It would be wrong if i not appreciate that Majority of Muslims living in India are comparatively in better condition and safer then Hindus living in Pakistan.

Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal reaching world no 1 positions in tennis and badminton respectively have done India proud. A salute to both of them but now its men's turn in badminton to achieve the same feat as Srikanth recently beat China's world no 1 and is ranked four presently.
