Mr Rafique said the Foundation was helping patients as well as the government in sharing financial burden to help ailing people visiting the public hospitals. He said the BSF had also provided a state-of-the-art ICU at the department.

Mr Sarwar said that besides all the beds for the patients, furniture, biomedical equipment including new Echocardiography machines, the Foundation had also installed air conditioning unit at the East Medical Ward.

He announced that the Bilqees Foundation was ready to upgrade more wards of teaching hospitals.

“We are also going to donate 50 dialysis machines immediately for the dialysis unit,” he said, adding the BSF was officially launched in 2010 with the inauguration of Bilqees Sarwar Free Hospital in Lahore.

“The BSF Free Hospital has so far served 500,000 people and treating up to 12,000 patients per month,” he said.
