PESHAWAR: To promote academic activities among tribal youth, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Social Sector Department Fata and Fazaia College of Education for Women, according to a handout.
The signing ceremony was held at the Fata Secretariat here on Friday. Under the MoU, a grant-in-aid amounting to Rs5 million would be extended to Fazaia College, Peshawar, to provide quality education opportunities to the students from tribal area.
The funding has been allocated under the Annual Development Plan 2014-15. The eight-year contract would also focus on improving teaching facilities and promoting research activities.
The college has agreed to allocate 15 per cent seats in all degree and diploma courses for Fata students along with 10 per cent seats to teachers hailing from the area.
Under the MoU, the college would also provide 15 per cent seats to Fata students and teachers in certificate courses and workshops to be held during summer classes i.e. June to August and 50 per cent seats during the batch running from September to May.
Full fee waiver would be provided to all the students of Fata under the agreement.
