MITHI: Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that 750 reverse osmosis (RO) plants are being installed across Tharparkar district and after completion of the work by the end of this year, 80 per cent issues relating to water in the area will stand solved.
Mr Shah was speaking at a ceremony held on the second day of the three-day Health and Nutrition Festival organised by the health department at the Benazir Bhutto Cultural Complex.
He stressed the need for fully equipped mobile health units covering each and every village of Tharparkar and called for the appointment of as many doctors and paramedics as required.

He expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments to ensure relief to the drought-hit people of the region.He said employment opportunities for jobless Tharis were also being created.
Mr Shah noted that a large number of lady health workers were available but they did not attend to their duties regularly. He asked them to discharge their duties honestly and with dedication, and pledged that the government would take steps to resolve their issues.Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Dahar, secretary Iftikhar Ali Shalwani and MPA Dr Mahesh Malani also spoke.
The chief minster also visited Chachhro and addressed a public meeting there.
He told the audience that free wheat supplies to drought-hit Tharis would continue till the next monsoon.
He also inspected healthcare facilities at the Chachhro taluka hospital and promised that it would be upgraded.
Minister Dost Mohammad Rahimoo and MNA Peer Noor Mohammad Shah also spoke at the gathering, attended by Minster Ali Mardan Shah, former MNA Dr Gulam Hyder Samejo, former MPA Inyat Rahimoo and others.
