ISLAMABAD: Paying tribute to the martyrs of Gyari sector, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the entire nation was proud of the supreme sacrifice of officers and jawans of the Pakistan Army who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

He said in a statement that the brave sons of the soil, who were safeguarding the motherland on the highest and toughest battleground of the world, were still “alive in our hearts”.

On April 7, 2012 a military camp in Gyari sector near Skardu was buried under a huge avalanche. Some 140 officers, soldiers and civilians died in the incident.
