OKARA: District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Rana claimed on Wednesday to have arrested an absconder and recovered from him two Kalashnikovs which had been snatched from the Sahiwal police in 2009.

The DPO said that police received information that murderer Javid alias Pajee was present in the house of a tenant in village 23/IRB in Renala estate.

He said heavy police contingents comprising personnel of Renala, Okara Saddar, Chuchak and Elite Force led by the Renala SHO raided the house and arrested absconder Javid alias Pajee without any resistance.

The DPO said police also recovered illicit weapons and two Kalashnikovs which had been snatched by absconders after injuring Ghalla Mandi Sub-Inspector Rao Shafqat during a police raid.

ARRESTED: A drunken landlord was arrested for allegedly resorting to aerial firing in Fateh Town locality late on Tuesday night.

A-Division police arrested landlord Ghulam Haider Rubera and recovered illicit weapons from him.

A case has been registered against the arrested landlord under Arms Act on the report of Sub-Inspector Hamid Rasheed.
