KARACHI: Two suspects were shot dead in an alleged encounter in Sohrab Goth in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police arrested a suspect, Noorullah alias China, for his allegedly involvement in the killing of a policeman a few months back and other crimes, said SHO Fasih Zaman.

On his lead, the police conducted a targeted raid for the arrest of his accomplices in an under-construction building in Bantva Memon Society off the Superhighway near Gana Mandi.

When the police party cordoned off the area, the suspects opened fire, resulting in the killing of the held suspect and in ‘retaliatory firing’ an unknown suspect was killed. The police claimed to have seized an SMG rifle and a motorbike from the suspect.

The dead were Afghan nationals, allegedly involved in several crimes, including robberies and attacks on policemen, said the police officer.
